Starting Points Child Care Center’s mission is to provide a loving, caring, and safe learning environment that challenges the individual child at his or her rate of development.
We help each child to develop a sense of importance, a feeling of security, and a positive self-image.
We provide a well-rounded, comprehensive program focused on all the essential elements of teaching preschool children, using trained staff motivated to provide the best experience for you and your children.
We seek Assistant Teachers to guide each child in developing language, cognitive, social, emotional, motor, and self-help skills.
Hours: 2:30-6:00p
Job Requirements:
- Be at least nineteen years of age and have a High School diploma or GED.
- Prefer 30 hours of TECTA training, a CDA, or a degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Have one to four years of previous experience with infants or toddlers in a childcare setting.
- Complete and/or provide the information in items 1 through 9 of the Staff Manual under staff qualifications.
- Read and understand the Staff Manual.
- Have the skills and understanding of child development and childcare.
- Have effective communication skills with parents, children, staff, and administration.
- Have no criminal background.
- Understand what is required to maintain employment as listed in the Staff Manual.
- Submit to random drug testing.
Physical Job Requirements: (Infant Assistant teachers must be able to do the following)
- Get up and down off the floor with ease.
- Easily lift a child (up to 40 pounds) from the floor to a table.
- See for a distance of up to 75 yards for the safe supervision of children.
- Hear from a distance of 25 yards for the safe supervision of children.
- Have no physical conditions that would restrict him/her from a full range of motion or mental alertness.
