Kingston Standard is a local, family owned and operated brewery / tasting room located in midtown Kingston, NY. We brew fresh, simple and easy drinking beers on the one hand and complex mixed fermentation, barrel aged beers on the other. Our tasting room features a streamlined menu and a selection of products on draft, as well as regional cider, wine and select spirits.

We're looking for an Assistant Brewer to join our very small production team. Willing to train the right candidate. Must be exceptionally detail oriented, reliable, fastidious with excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities include:

• All aspects of wort production according to existing recipes and specifications; including, setup, operation and cleaning of our 1bbl electric brewhouse
• All aspects of cellar work and fermentation management in accordance with existing SOPs; including, sampling, testing, yeast management/harvesting, carbonation, packaging and tank cleaning
• Receiving supplies / raw materials, tracking inventory and coordinating spent grain pickup
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout all phases of production
• Conduct regular preventative maintenance on brewery equipment so as to ensure a safe work environment and maximum efficiency
• Conduct regular draft line cleaning and maintenance
• Operate forklifts and other equipment as needed
• Perform all duties so as to foster a safe work environment

Skills

• Understanding of brewing process including wort production, fermentation, yeast handling, packaging and CIP
• Knowledge of safe chemical handling and safe working procedures

Requirements

• Exceptionally detail oriented.
• Ability to work as a self-starter
• Ability to lift 55lbs and work for extended periods of time on your feet, at heights, crouch, twist, turn and in extreme temperatures
• Strong Mechanical and problem solving skills
• Ability to perform with care and compassion under pressure.
• Valid Driver's license and approved to work in the US
• 21+
