Position Title: Head Boys Track & Field Coach 40>Atheletes Salary: 734.40 Contract Length: Sports Season Immediate Supervisor: Athletic Director Position Summary:Teach, guide, mentor and direct student-athletes andAssistant coaches in order to create a successful andMultifaceted high school track program. Duties:Develop/maintain a year-round program, including strength and conditioning.Develop/maintain off season workouts for skill development and conditioning.Develop a track program that entices athletes to be part of the program.Develop/Maintain a recruiting program (per SBCSC policy) with the high school athletes and within the SBCSC feeder system programs, to increase the number of athletes as part of the high school track program.Keep athletes motivated, learning and growing as individuals.Serve as a role modelEnsure athletes' safety and be fully cognizant of proper risk management procedures and medical protocols.Interact favorably with parents and other stake holders as well as community constituents.Be active with Intermediate Center track programs; this includes camps, workouts, and guidance/mentoring of feeder coaches.Organization of track meets- responsible for getting workers and delegating their responsibilities at the meet.Effectively process all required paperwork-ie: physicals, insurance forms, eligibility materials, etc. as outlined by the Athletic Director.Diligently keep inventory of equipment and uniforms as well as all individual records set by the athletes.Conduct fundraisers as necessary.Follow all procedures and requirements set forth in the SBCSC Coaches Handbook.Actively assist student athletes in preparing for and selecting a college, including communicating and corresponding with college coaches, preparing videos, assisting with an athlete's portfolio.Join state and national coaching associations as applicable.Attend state and national coaching clinic as applicable.Attend required coaches meetings as directed by the Athletic Director.Support the student in pursuit of academic excellence.Support other coaches and programs within the school and corporation in sharing athletes.Communicate accurately, regularly, and effectively with the media.Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.Qualifications:Experience as a high school Head track coach or anAssistant coach in a successful track program.
You must have the ability to positively motivate student-athletes academically as well as athletically. Have excellent communication skills, and a history of strong inter-personal relationships.
