Summary:     

Assistant Banking Center Manager associates are experienced educators that are enthusiastic/self-motivated individuals with proven success at delivering solutions that help our clients achieve financial freedom and peace of mind. Assistant Banking Center Manager  associates achieve this vision by building professional relationships with existing and potential clients to understand their financial needs, to deliver valuable products and services to meet those needs and complete the account opening process accurately. Successful Assistant Banking Center Manager associates are experts in Banking Center operations and are enthusiastic about delivering an excellent client experience; understanding and promoting bank products and services to individuals and companies; conducting accurate banking transactions in a fast-paced environment and working with, and leading a team, to achieve individual and group goals. Assistant Banking Center Manager associates are responsible for assisting the Banking Center Manager in leading the operations and sales production.

Position pays a minimum of $25.00. This position is eligible for additional incentive compensation monthly, based on achievement of established incentive goals. The monthly average incentive can range from $0 if no goals are met and can be more than $500 if goals are exceeded. Principal Accountabilities:

  • Deliver a Fast, Easy, and Personal client experience consistent with company’s standards with each client and associate interaction.
  • Promote consumer/small business banking products and services to clients and prospects using direct sales techniques in and around the assigned Banking Center, that include handing out product brochures, engaging potential clients in conversations about banking needs, and speaking with knowledge and positivity about the bank’s products and services.
  • Achieve specific sales goals on a daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Work closely with the Banking Center Manager to develop an actionable sales plan to achieve Banking Center goals.
  • Assist Banking Center Manager and excel at inside and outside sales activities including sales calls, group banking and Academy at Work.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with business partners to maximize opportunities and achieve sales standards. Provide a broad base of financial services with the goal of earning 100% of the client’s business.
  • Opens all type of accounts offered by the bank, including but not limited to checking and savings accounts, CD’s, IRA’s, loan products, etc. Will also be responsible for recommending other bank products to clients, including credit cards and loans.
  • Be a digital expert in educating clients and associates in our digital banking platform. This includes, but is not limited to, online banking and bill pay/external transfers, mobile banking app to include text alerts and mobile deposits, usage of smart ATM/ITM’s, usage of chat box, and all other self-service channels.
  • Work closely with clients and business partners to refer products and services to other business lines.
  • Educate and provide clients with other banking services and resolve client concerns and issues timely and efficiently.
  • Lead by example in all areas including sales, referrals, client experience, professional demeanor, and daily Banking Center operations.
  • Work closely with the Banking Center Manager to help mentor associates to further develop their career path.
  • Mentor branch associates by observing and coaching client interactions.
  • Ethically conducts operational tasks related to protecting client and bank assets related to regulatory compliance, including properly documenting account opening, accounting for cash and negotiable instruments under dual control, completing logs and other records to document proper procedures, obtaining and ensuring the accuracy of all regulatory and procedural documentation.
  • Protects all client information and bank trade secrets and business records as confidential, and follows all company policies for communication with clients, vendors, and associates.
  • Maintains current knowledge and consistent compliance with regulations and bank policies and procedures related to the position, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requirements; Employee Handbook policies; and Operations, Audit, and Security policies, through regular and thorough training.
  • Assist Banking Center Manager to complete operational tasks to include daily, monthly, quarterly, and year end tasks.
  • In the absence of the Banking Center Manager, the Assistant Banking Center Manager oversees all supervisory functions for the branch under the leadership of the Banking Center Manager.
  • Provide vault duties as needed.
  • Complete teller transactions when necessary.
  • Ensure work premises constitutes a safe work environment that promotes positive bank image, including regular inspection for and remediation of any hazardous conditions; regular maintenance and cleaning of premises; adherence to all posting requirements in jurisdiction, including human resources and compliance postings; and provision of comfortable and appropriate space for associates to conduct banking business.
  • Understands, embodies, communicates, and instills corporate initiatives and vision, including the six Pillars of Success.
  • Maintains client information in complete confidence.
  • Completes other specified duties as assigned. 
  • Regular attendance required, working at the assigned worksite, or assigned remote location during regular business hours and/or assigned hours.

Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required; Associate degree or higher preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 months of banking or equivalent experience, client service experience, and cash handling is preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 months proven sales experience required.
  • Minimum of 6 months previous supervisory experience is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to complete work accurately is required.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Basic math and counting skills to include the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as cash back and percentages.
  • Above average ability to think logically to analyze situations, resolve problems, and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient at working with multiple computer and software systems.
  • Proficient in basic office skills/equipment, including computer, email, ten-key calculator, copier, scanner/fax, typing, telephone, organization systems, and Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Ability to travel outside of the Banking Center within the local area, up to 20%, as required. If transporting oneself, a valid driver’s license in the primary state of residence is required.

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work overtime as required and when approved by management.

Physical Requirements:

The work environment is typical of a standard office or retail banking setting. The position involves standing most of the day but may also include occasional periods of sitting. Position will involve moving about the workspace to reach entrances/exits, restrooms, conference rooms, or other areas within the work environment. Position requires the ability to transport oneself from one local work to another local work site via automobile or public transportation. Exposure to the elements is possible while outdoors. Reaching may be required involving the ability to move arms in any direction.  Office equipment, such as a computer and telephone, will be used requiring the ability to manipulate a keyboard, mouse, and/or keypad.  The ability to decipher a computer screen or written documents is necessary. The ability to express or exchange ideas; impart information to clients, coworkers, or the public; or to convey detailed or important instructions; is required. The ability to receive and understand detailed information shared through oral or written communication is required. The position requires occasional lifting and/or the exerting of up to 25 pounds of force.
