The Assistant ASP Supervisor, Ammunition Supply Point (ASP) is responsible to the ASP Supervisor, for daily operations, safety, personnel management, maintenance, administration, security, training and ammunition accountability. Leads and directs the work of other employees. Has some authority for personnel decisions related to hiring, performance, or disciplinary actions.


Responsibilities

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Planning, Scheduling and Production Control: provides direct insight of Unit Issues to include actual pick-up times and dates of appointments, Unit turn-ins including live ammunition, inert and ammunition residue, Incoming and Outgoing shipments, Oversee Vehicle Inspections and Surveillance Operations, Daily validation of all DA 581s and associated documents, Daily spot checks of records and storage locations and review of DA Form 1687’s for accuracy.
  • Ensure all ASP operations are conducted in a safe manner and in accordance with all applicable MCoE, TRADOC, FORSCOM, IMCOM, Department of the Army and Department of Defense Safety and Fire Prevention regulations and requirements. This includes but is not limited to: Personal Protective Equipment Vehicle, Vehicle Operations, Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Operation, Quantity Distance considerations during issues, turn-ins, receipt and shipments, Weekly Fire Plan, Monthly Fire Drill, Safety and Fire Fighting SOPs, Fire Symbols.
  • Responsible for Personnel Management to include: Scheduling of Guards for the main gate and VHA Work assignments, Recommendations for disciplinary actions, Overtime assignments, Work assignment shifts due to unusual requirements, Recommendations on potential new/current employees, Approval of vacation/PTO requests.
  • Responsible for management of Maintenance of Buildings, Grounds and Equipment to include: Daily, weekly and monthly preventive maintenance on MHE Maintenance on hand tools, Emergency work orders on all buildings and storage facilities, Cleanliness of storage bunkers, Provide Oversite of MHE Work Orders, Monthly Mileage Report on GSA vehicles.
  • Responsible for administrative matters to include: Documentation and implementation of ASP SOPs, Implementation of individual processes IAW ISO 9002-2000, Proper validation of e-time entries, maintaining an updated alert roster, Document control to preclude losing ammunition document and records, filing maintenance IAW AR 25-400-2, the Army Records Information Management Systems (ARIMS).
  • Ensure proper security procedures are complied with to include: Key and Lock Inventory Control, Security of Munitions IAW AR 190-11 and DOD 5100.76-M, Compliance with the Two-Man Rule, Security Construction Statements in each storage location, Escorting personnel requiring access to the ASP not on an approved access roster, Security procedures for classified munitions, Maintaining cognizance of personal conduct that may adversely affect the ability to maintain a security clearance, Daily security of all buildings, offices and equipment
  • Responsible for the certification and training of all ASP personnel to include: Maintenance of certification documentation, Certification and Licensing for MHE, Firefighting training, and all required refresher training such as HAZMAT
  • Ensure accountability of all ammunition and government furnished property (GFP) to include: Proper procedures for issues and turn-ins, Proper maintenance of Magazine Data Cards, Monthly Category I inventory and report (if applicable), Quarterly wall to wall inventory and causative research if required, Quarterly location surveys, Proper posting of issue, turn-ins, receipts and shipment documentation to SAAS, Special inventories as directed by the Accountable Officer and Receipts of inventories.

MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:

  • Computer, office supplies. Forklifts, general purposes vehicles and hand tools

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety vest, steel or composite shoes/boots, safety gloves, hard hat and eyewear in certain areas.
  • Must be able to operate standard office equipment.
  • Function in an office environment in a stationary position.
  • May be called in to work weekends.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

  • Must be able to lift a maximum of 50 pounds unassisted in the warehouse environment.
  • Must be able to operate in a prolonged standing environment, up to eight hours.
  • Must be able to walk on uneven ground and within work various sites at times in the performance of duties.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Training in ammunition breakdown, distribution and accountability is mandatory.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain NACI clearance.
  • Must be able pass local ammunition security screenings.
  • Must be able to provide US Citizenship documentation, such as a birth certificate or passport.
  • Must be able to pass the background check to have unaccompanied access to arms, ammunition, and explosives.
  • Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Valid State Driver’s License with no restrictions.
  • Must be able to pass a pre- employment drug screen.
  • Basic Ammunition Certifications (Ammo-45,54, 60(off site -McAlester, OK), 62 (optional) 63,64,67,68, 75, 76,112,) IAW AMC-R 350-4)

 

Experience/Skills:

  • Three years specialized ammunition-handling experience with one-year supervisory experience preferred.
  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)Must be able to problem solve and perform research using related applicable regulations.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills; ability to interact at all levels
