Area Director of Operations
Job Description
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
Manages the operations of multiple Slim Chickens restaurants and manages the performance and compliance of multiple District Managers, including the execution of all Company policies, procedures, programs and systems. Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local laws and ethical business practices. Ensures all business processes are enforced in regard to financial controls, operations metrics and standards. Provides leadership, directs training and development to District Managers and General Managers.
ACCOUNTABILITES
1. Ensure District Manager upholds and adheres to all company policies, program, procedures and systems and complies with all federal, state and local laws and ethical business practices. Ensure District Manager is working with their assigned restaurants to establish store priorities and maintaining a “People Excellence” environment at all times.
2. Manage and Develop District Manager by observing them while in their restaurants. Ensure the District Manager achieves and maintains continual improvement in Quality, Service and Cleanliness standards when coaching the management team.
3. Ensure the District Manager is evaluating daily operations of their restaurants in the areas of Sales, Staffing, Quality, Service, Cleanliness, Training, Performance, Cost Controls and Policies and Procedures.
The Area Director will assist the District Manager in any area of concern within the restaurant by assisting the District Manager in creating and implementing an action plan for improvement.
4. Assist District Manager in assessing talent for promotability.
5. Conduct Inspections and Audits to ensure compliance with Slim Chickens procedures and policies
6. Hire Assistant Managers in Training and make sure their training and development is executed properly through the utilization of established systems.
7. Conduct timely District Manager and General Manager evaluations establishing ongoing expectations.
8. Conduct restaurant visits to observe District Managers interaction in the areas of, management coaching, customer satisfaction, Slim Chickens system utilization and people development. Provide positive or constructive feedback as needed to ensure management team and restaurant success.
9. Conduct 4-week Profit and Loss review with District Manager and semiannually Business Review with District Manager and General Manager.
10. Assist Human Resources, Information Technology, Marketing and Maintenance with anything that could impact Operations.
11. Assist District Managers with properly training their restaurants with the implementation of Slim Chickens new products, policies or procedures.
12. Assist and communicate with outside vendors.
13. Partner with Slim Chickens L.L.C. Franchise Operations Coach and Field Training Manager

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
College Graduate or Military Background Required and 3 to 4 Years District Manager experience in the restaurant industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience
WORK ENVIRONMENT
In order to satisfactorily execute and meet the above accountabilities and key measurement criteria, the Area Director must perform the majority of their duties on site, in accordance with customary scheduling requirements for this position. The Area Director must be able to visit assigned restaurants as needed to ensure stores’ overall quality, cleanliness and operations are continuously met. The Area Director must have a Valid Driver’s License in good standing.
