The AB Sr Underwriting Manager leads a team of underwriters whose primary responsibility is evaluating financing opportunities, underwriting credit exposure and negotiating loan documentation for new customers of Bank of America Business Capital (BABC). Bank of America Business Capital provides leveraged loans in a variety of industries including manufacturers, distributors and service companies. The asset-based loan credit facilities range from $5 million to over $2 billion in size and are collateralized primarily by accounts receivable and inventory.
The AB Sr Underwriting Manager is an experienced credit professional capable of independent activity on complex and sensitive credit transactions to include, private equity sponsor transactions with I-Bank term loans, large corporate transactions, and middle market transactions. The AB Sr. Underwriting Manager has a deep knowledge of the nuances associated with all Asset Based Lending solutions. The AB Sr Underwriting Manager leads a team of underwriters who partner with business development officers, relationship managers and/or product specialists and are responsible for developing, structuring, analyzing, completing the covenant and documentation process, funding and closing ABL transactions. This team interfaces directly with clients and prospects, financial sponsors and/or financial intermediaries (including outside accountants, legal counsel, appraisers, field examiners, etc.). The AB Sr Underwriting Manager has a deep understanding of Bank of America and BABC credit policies and is required to identify and resolve issues during the underwriting, documentation and closing processes.
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years ABL Structuring and Underwriting experience.
- Significant ABL industry knowledge required.
- Deep knowledge and understanding of ABL loan documentation with ability to quickly review and analyze loan documents.
- Must be able to establish and maintain collaborative partnerships.
- Ability to work as a player/coach.
- Ability to successfully mentor and train direct reports.
- Demonstrates strong leadership abilities that fosters win-win solutions that build trust.
- Demonstrates deep and broad business acumen - a strong ABL professional with extensive technical skills.
- Easily navigates multiple client and support organizations.
- Demonstrates sound judgment and acts with speed - able to achieve results quickly.
- Ability to multi-task and work on numerous open transactions simultaneously.
- Knowledge of International ABL parameters is desired.
- BA Degree or commensurate work experience
