SUMMARY
Ultra-Tech Aerospace is currently seeking an experienced Assembly Technician. Hours are Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m with overtime is worked on Friday's as needed. Assemble or fabricate mechanical parts, pieces or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications.
DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read, interpret, and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products
- Utilize hand-held tools
- Maintain inventory of product in workstations
- Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards
- Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified
- Re-work and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes
- Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Perform load tests as required by customer engineering
- Apply various adhesives and sealants with appropriate applications per customer specifications
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1-2 years mechanical assembly experience required
- Basic reading skills, computer skills, critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Customer focused with strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly while maintaining high attention to detail
- Regularly lift 30-50 pounds and regularly perform repetitive tasks
- Motivated, self-starter, with a positive, "can do" attitude, and with the ability to take on new roles and responsibilities as needed
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to follow directions and have the ability to read blueprints, engineering plans, procedure manuals and work instructions
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED WORK HOURS
This is a full-time position with a typical work schedule of Monday through Thursday, 6:00a.m. to 4:30p.m., with overtime being worked on Fridays as needed. There may be times where there is an expectation to work extended hours as dictated by business needs.
