Onsite/Remote:Partial Remote Position


Your Responsibilities


As a Current Products Assembly ME for John Deere Harvester Works located in East Moline, IL, you will:


  • Concept and procure assembly tooling, specialized racks, paint tooling, and lifting devices and utilize engineering tools to determine the sequence of events for running changes to current product
  • Communicate issues and verify safety and ergonomic methods. Use lean manufacturing principles to develop assembly processes, line design and factory layouts
  • Utilize design, tooling, and advanced technologies to integrate mistake-proofing into our parts and methods
  • Use SAP to develop part parameters and routings.
  • Lead DFM activities with Design Engineers to resolve manufacturing, safety and ergonomic issues, and quality metrics
  • Participate in quality activities such as FGRs, DPARS, and PFMEAs activities
  • Create AFE capital estimates by developing accurate tooling, equipment, facilities, and container/rack cost estimates
  • Support AFE labor estimates by developing accurate part routings and labor estimates

What Skills You Need


  • 3 or more years of manufacturing/shop floor experience
  • 3 or more years of experience with problem solving and working in a team environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office products
  • 1 or more years of experience managing capital projects

What Makes You Stand Out


  • Experience with engineering tools (AUTOCAD, CREO, etc)
  • Experience with MPPlanner, JDAAT, and SAP
  • Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GDT)
  • Understanding of the Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP)
  • Work experience in a union environment
  • Experience with tooling design
  • Experience with shop floor manufacturing, incentive pay systems, and work measurement
  • Experience with line design, material presentation, cycle balancing

Education


Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:


  • Bachelors degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or other engineering/technology discipline
