Repair Technician- Teardown of Freight Valves, 1st shift, $16.50/hr to start

- 1st shift- Mon-Thurs 6am – 4:30pm; $16.50 per hour

New York Air Brake, Kansas City Service Center, is located in Riverside, MO. We perform AAR approved repair upgrade and COT&S of all AAR Freight Valves and peripheral devices, 26L, 30-CDW and CCB type locomotive components and systems, single car test devices, brake cylinders, and tread brakes.

Essential Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Basic disassembly, washing, and/or assembly of freight or locomotive valves or brake pistons using work instructions.
Identification of serviceable vs. non serviceable parts.
Operation of semi-automatic equipment i.e. pedestal buffers, hand buffers, wash machines, ultra-sonic washers.
Proper use of power and manual tools. i.e. impact wrenches, drills, EZ Outs, hand tools.
Understand and comply with all quality and safety rules, guidelines, policies and procedures.
Perform hazardous waste management duties as necessary. Annual hazardous waste management will be completed. Department of Transportation Hazardous Materials Ground Shipper will be completed every three (3) years.
Must understand and support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.
Must understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
Must understand, support and adhere to the Integrated Management System policies, procedures and instructions.
Must understand and support relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), as defined in the goal tree.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
The employee will be exposed to shop floor conditions, i.e. noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt etc. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
