Wood Shop Assembler/Forklift Operator
Role and Responsibilities
The position supports the wood shop to help the team expedite customer orders in a timely fashion.
- Responsible for picking materials and lengths of wood per customer specifications.
- Accurately measuring the wood pieces and arranging them onto the table to be fed through the table saw.
- Safely operating table saw/chop saw and making sure measurements and cuts accurately match specifications.
- Conducts quality inspections on wood lengths.
- Arranging and organizing finished wood lengths into piles to be used in the build-out of pallets.
- Picking and assembling wood lengths into pallet order and nailing/stapling the pallets together.
- Inspect all finished products for defects and fix them accordingly.
- Responsible for keeping workspaces and surrounding floor areas clean, neat, and organized.
- Adhere to lean manufacturing processes and understand how to handle waste and excess material.
- Knowledge of product designs and ability to read basic blueprints/drawings.
- Experience using a band saw table saw, and chop saw.
- History of safely operating hand tools including staple guns, pneumatic nail guns, and other tools.
- Must have the ability to use a tape measure, calipers, rulers, and wood-securing clamps as needed.
- Mathematical understanding is a must for this role.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs throughout shift.
- Operate a sit-down forklift as needed.
