Assembler
LOCATION: Salem, VA
DEPARTMENT: Operations - OEM
STATUS: Full-time Non-Exempt
SHIFT: Second shift, 3:30pm am to 12:00 am with overtime as needed.
REPORTS TO: Ops Area Manager
Position Summary: Use hands, tools and/or robotics to assemble security products such as locks. Check quality on each piece for function and workmanship.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Read work order, assemble and pack materials according to specifications.
- Use various machines and hand tools to accomplish assigned tasks.
- Work with Team Leader to produce product based on the production schedule.
- Expedite materials throughout cell as needed for production.
- Maintain logs, records and reports concerning production, machine maintenance and product inconsistencies.
- Maintain equipment needed to perform tasks.
- Inventory tools, parts and supplies; contact Team Lead or Area Manager when supplies are needed.
- Check products based on standard work or training to ensure quality and uniform completion; resolve any identified problems and alert Team Lead as necessary.
- Meet quality standards, on time delivery, and continually improve productivity to exceed customer expectations.
- Participate in team meeting to improve team performance, solve problems, improve safety and 5S
- Must be able to meet or exceed performance measures after training
- Perform any additional duties required to assure smooth operation of product centers and support areas
- Perform responsibilities in accordance with all company standards, policies, and procedures
- Occasional overtime will be required
- Any other duties as required
