STS Packaging, a Schwarz Partners, L.P. Joint Venture company is currently seeking an Asitrade Laminating Operator in Mooresville, IN. The Asitrade Laminating Operator reports to the Shift Supervisor. The Asitrade Laminating Operator is responsible for all activities associated with the Laminator ensuring a quality product in a safe and efficient manner. The operator is responsible for knowing how to perform all of the job duties associated with the position.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION

  • Read and understand a factory orders, roll tags, paper types, flutes, top sheets
  • Ability to effectively set up and run the roll stands, Fife, Glue machine, knife label table & feeder, stacker
  • Ability to troubleshoot quality and run issues and produce a quality product.
  • Perform all required quality checks.
  • Able to direct machine crew to achieve high quality, high productivity and low waste
  • Complete production reporting for each job
  • Prepare top sheets to be run
  • Regular and predictable attendance

OTHER SIGNIFICANT JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE

  • Comprehend instructions given by supervisors
  • Ability to set the machine up for top sheets
  • Ability to trouble shoot top sheet issues
  • Ability to check grain direction on top sheets
  • Ability to communicate with stacker and single face operator
  • Conform to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), and Safe Quality Food (SQF) procedures and policies to assure products are suitable for food contact
  • Responsible for reporting any product quality or food safety issues to the Quality Manager (SQF Practitioner) or Management Team member

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / CERTIFICATIONS

  • High School degree or GED
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment

PREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / CERTIFICATIONS

  • Experience operating manual and electric pallet jacks
  • 1 year experience as a Laminator Operator

REQUIRED SKILLS (TECHNICAL, CLERICAL, LANGUAGE, ETC.)

  • Knowledge of how to perform basic quality checks
  • Must follow Safety/GMP/PPE guidelines
  • Team-oriented mindset
  • Take direction from Shift Supervisor
  • Basic mechanical knowledge
  • Read and understand instructions and job information
  • Desire to accept additional responsibility and learn new tasks
  • Work in accordance with all company policies and procedures

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Fluent in English required
  • Fluency in Spanish a plus

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Constant standing, walking, talking, hearing; occasional sitting; specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception and peripheral vision. The position also requires the ability to stand 90% of shift and lift up to 45 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be available.

  • Tools required for the job: Steel toe shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, hair nets
