Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.
Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.
Our hybrid opportunity can be in either our Minneapolis, MN or Boise, ID offices!
As a Senior Engineer in Micron's ASIC Analog Design team, you will design the next generation of Micron's internally developed tester ASICs and memory controller IP. The ideal candidate will have a strong background of success in the design and development of deep sub-micron and high-speed PHY design.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to
  • Be part of a highly-skilled, high-speed PHY design team working on deep sub-micron technology nodes (5 - 28 nm).
  • Take ownership of the development of critical cells inside the PHY, driving specification and implementation.
  • Drive layout of sophisticated blocks through mask designers.
  • Comfortable communicating complex engineering ideas both to the design team and customers to explain design choices and provide insight into design tradeoffs.
  • Plan and participate in silicon bring-up-characterization, and perform correlation to simulations.

SKILLS required:
  • Strong fundamental knowledge of AMS design, Advanced CMOS, and FinFet technologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Circuit design experience in analog/mixed-signal CMOS circuits in deep sub-micron technologies (5 - 40 nm) in High-speed Memory interfaces (DDR3/4/5, LPDDR3/4x/5, GDDR5/6) or SerDes Interfaces (PCIe, M-PHY, HDMI, USB, SATA, etc).
  • Prior experience in taking full ownership of at least one of the sub-blocks like PLL, DLL, CDR, high-speed receiver with equalization, transmitter front end, or high-speed data path.
  • You should have dea ep understanding of analog and mixed-signal circuits.
  • Understand architecture tradeoffs in high-speed SerDes and PHYs.
  • Able to work with Packaging/Board team.
  • Experience in lab testing, working with the validation team to analyze data, and providing design of experiments to drive difficult debug cases.
  • Understanding of Mismatch analysis & Monte-Carlo methodology/sims, transistor level Circuit level noise analysis. Understanding of device physics & deep-sub micron issues.
  • Supervision of sophisticated and/or critical analog layout and defining IP floorplan.
  • Experience with industry-standard tools such as Cadence ADE, Spectre, AMS verification, EM/IR flows, MATLAB, Calibre, etc.
  • You should understand the basics of Signal Integrity, power delivery, ESD, etc.
  • You should be curious and always looking to contribute, learn, and grow.
  • Knowledge of system-level modeling using VerilogA/Python a plus.
