Position Overview
Join us in the summer of 2024 and help us continue the legacy of fostering creativity, nurturing talent, and celebrating the individual artistic journey at Interlochen. We are seeking passionate and collaborative Instructors of Creative Writing who embody our core values and are committed to nurturing young artists. As a Creative Writing, you will teach classes within the Interdisciplinary Arts division. This position develops and implements high-quality Creative Writing curriculum for talented young students in a program that offers arts training across all the disciplines Interlochen has to offer. Students in the Arts Merge program take classes in Acting, Creative Writing, Dance, Environmental Exploration, Music and Visual Art. This interdisciplinary program draws the best from our students in a collaborative teaching environment.
What You Get To Do
- Collaborate with fellow instructors to provide meaningful learning opportunities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum
- Oversee growth and progress of all students within the program
- Attend weekly departmental meetings
- Create appropriate curriculum for the skill level of the campers
- This position will be responsible with organizing day-to-day interactions with his/her respective campers in the Interdisciplinary Arts division

Experience and Skills:
What You Need
- Availability 6/22/24 - 8/4/24
- Prepared to live in a dorm or nature cabin setting
- MA or MFA preferred, BA or BFA required
- Candidates should have experience teaching, directing, and working with youth
- Significant professional experience expected
