Art Studio Assistant

The Studio Assistant role is a position for an individual who wants to combine his/her retail and creative skills with our talented team in a challenging, rewarding environment. Reporting to the studio manager, this position is responsible for hosting open studio, customer sales, inventory upkeep, and to assist our creative instructors with camps, classes or parties. The goal of the Studio Assistant is to offer support in various areas to ensure that the studio is fully stocked, organized and prepared for customers. Studio assistants must have an interest in creativity and a passion for enhancing children’s and adult’s lives through creativity.

This is part-time position. Shifts include afternoons, evenings, or weekends.

*Preference given to candidate available to work summer camp.

Key Areas of Responsibilities

• Assist creative instructors with class, camp and party prep including gathering supplies, labeling supplies for upcoming events.
• Responsible for décor and room set up for upcoming parties.
• Responsible for materials prep, bagging and kit creating for open studio sales
• Provide assistance to customers in open studio with suggestions, material use and supplies.
• Maintain a clean open studio area including organization and visual appeal of shelves and displays.
• Responsible for studio cleanliness, organization and overall appearance
• Responsible for supply cleanliness: cleaning brushes, cups, dishes and paint pallets.

• Promote and support positive personal interaction with students, teachers, and administrative staff.
• Must be able to multi-task; be productive, focused, and flexible in a creative & sometimes chaotic environment. Organization and attention to detail.
• Have a natural ability to interact and communicate effectively with people of all ages and backgrounds.
• Ability to initiate games and interact with children in ways that are playful and energetic.
• Demonstrate a pleasant and professional manner.
• Ability to take direction from the artist/instructor as well as take initiative and help out where needed.
• Flexible schedule Give sufficient notice (24 hours) to your immediate supervisor if you are unable to work your assigned hours.
• Artistic knowledge multiple areas of painting, crafting and mixed media execution. General knowledge of material uses used for project creation
• Knowledge of Square register system

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
