Job description

The Arena Manager is responsible for contributing to the success of the facilities needs by managing, maintaining, and assisting with events scheduled the Northwest Farm Arena.  This is a 12-month part-time staff position.

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of equestrian, livestock, and rodeo events
  • Ability to operate and maintain a tractor
  • Ability to work with different clientele dynamics.
  • Demonstrate professionalism
  • Passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:

  1. Prepare footing in arena for varying events and public riding
  2. Set up equipment specific to the event (panels, barrels, chutes, etc.)
  3. Coordinate with facility coordinator on events
  4. Coordinate with stock contractors
  5. Maintain and repair equipment
  6. Prepare and check arena grounds, bathrooms, stands, 
  7. Coordinate with volunteers and departments for set up, break down, and clean up 
  8. Work within a budget
  9. Have knowledge of facility mechanics (plumbing, electrical, structure, etc.)
  10. Develop a strong working relationship with the community, media, and event participants
  11. Work with Farm Manager and Rodeo Team with various duties (practices)
  12. Demonstrate a personal example the demands of strong work ethic and completion of tasks
  13. Other duties as assigned by the Farm Manager and Director of Athletics.
