Description
MWA Architects is seeking a licensed architect with experience in Lab Design to join our San Francisco infrastructure design studio. The right person for our team is responsible, organized, and enthusiastic about this technical work-type. You will be performing work that requires design proficiency, adaptability, attention to detail, the ability to communicate and collaborate with a project team, and a passion for creating well-designed projects. Your responsibilities:

  • Develop architectural design solutions for civic/infrastructure projects, with a focus on laboratory planning and design
  • Lead lab programming and space planning tasks
  • Manage coordination with engineering consultants
  • Assist in development of technical documents for permit and construction
  • Coordinate materials/products with specification writers
  • Research codes, regulations, and industry best practices
  • Assist in construction administration activities
  • Assist in post-occupancy data collection
  • Assist with project management tasks

Salary Range:
  • At MWA Architects, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $90,000 and $110,000 and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and years of experience.

Requirements
  • California, Oregon, and/or Washington state architecture license desired.
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited program
  • At least six years of design experience within an office/studio environment, with at least two years of experience in highly technical project types, including laboratories.
  • Proficiency in Revit, 3D computer modeling, Adobe Creative Suite, and related programs
  • Ability to work in MWA's San Francisco office on a hybrid work schedule.

  • Experienced in design conceptualization and communication
  • Experienced in managing and mentoring other team members
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in construction administration
  • Interested in sustainable and resilient design; LEED, or other green accreditation
