Description
The Montgomery County Department of Parks, Enterprise Division, is currently seeking seasonal/intermittent applicants to fill Archery Instructor positions at South Germantown Recreational Park. Follow this link for details about the archery range.
The position pays at a rate beginning at $15.00 per hour depending on qualifications.
Work hours are flexible and include evenings, nights, holidays and weekends.
All selected candidates must display excellent customer service skills; attain First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications (training classes available); and attend in-house orientation.
Examples of Important Duties
The Archery instructor will be responsible for developing lesson plans and programs in teaching participants about the sport of archery through an interactive and enjoyable experience.
Must be able to teach beginner and intermediate archery programs to people of all ages and abilities. Maintains a high level of safety and ensures that minimum standards for archery instruction and safety are consistently taught to all participants.
Instructs participants about range safety, steps in shooting and equipment upkeep and repair. Responsible for range setup and clean up prior to and after each class.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must provide proof of certification earned through USA Archery.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Supplemental Information
These positions are seasonal (part-time) and do not include benefits. Salaries are based on experience.
A complete background investigation will be completed prior to hire.
Weekend and evening work is mandatory.

Limited Benefits for Seasonal Employees
Health Insurance Plans
You are eligible for specific health insurance benefits if you worked, on average, 30 hours per week during your first 12 months of employment or from October 3rd to October 2nd each subsequent period following your first 12 months of employment. This equates to 1,560 hours over a 12-month period.
If and when you are eligible for benefits, you will receive notification directly from the Health & Benefits Office.
Eligible Employees Pay 35% of the health insurance plan premium and The Commission Pays 65%.
