Archeological Field Technician- Part-Time Temporary 

POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking part-Time TemporaryArcheological Field Technicians beginning in February into Spring. This will include large project surveys in Oklahoma. Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. The successful candidates will have a demonstrated ability to support Phase I archeological surveys. Additional work/tasks may arise providing additional work opportunities.

 Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities

As commensurate with experience, the Field Technician provides technical support, utilizing a basic understanding of anthropological and Archeological Field techniques in connection with locating, testing, recording, mapping, and evaluating archeological sites and supporting field surveys. Conducting field surveys (pedestrian and shovel test surveys) using topographic maps, aerial photographs, and ESRI Field Maps App will be a regular part of this role. This position requires the ability to work long hours, in difficult or remote environments in varying weather conditions and the ability to work with groups composed of diverse personalities.

 Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Anthropology, or a related discipline
  • Previous CRM field experience or Archeological Field school
  • Knowledge and understanding of equipment, technology, and paperwork used in the recording and documenting of archeological sites and artifacts
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work long hours in harsh environments and in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to effectively and respectfully communicate with team members
  • Must be able to carry heavy loads in the field

 Desired Education/Experience

  • Experience in utility transmission, petrochemical exploration projects
  • Experience with Arc Field Maps data collection
  • Experience participating in daily Job Hazard Analysis "tailgate" safety meetings
