This position is a Apartment Maintenance Technician that we are willing to train someone who has some experience in flooring, plumbing, drywall, electrical, etc.

We are currently seeking an Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our team! If you have a great personality and enjoy working with your hands, you might be the person we are looking for to become a part of our amazing team.

Summary:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the physical condition and appearance of one or more properties that will enhance the value of the community. The successful candidate will communicate and utilize company operating and safety standards, assist with unit turns, complete work orders, maintain the grounds, maintain the property’s equipment and machinery, and assist in all other required tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and clean the building common areas on a daily basis
  • Keep the grounds free of debris and remove and properly dispose of rubbish/trash
  • Complete the maintenance turn of vacant units for occupancy within the specified time frame and ensure all items are addressed, repaired or replaced
  • Care for and maintain the inventory of all supplies and equipment owned by the property and/or the management company
  • Complete assigned work orders and document necessary information on work order form
  • Repair/replace appliances as required (refrigerators, dishwashers, stoves, garbage disposals, washers and dryers)
  • Perform basic electrical work to include changing out light fixtures, replacing/repairing switches and outlets, replacing breakers, and connecting (hard wire) applicable appliances
  • Perform basic plumbing to include repairing/replacing faucets, clearing blocked lines, repairing leaks, repairing/replacing toilets, and repairing/replacing drains
  • Perform basic carpentry to include cutting out and repairing drywall, repairing/replacing trim and installing or repairing doors
  • Maintain the workshop and utility/mechanical room(s) to ensure they are clean, orderly and safe from potential hazards
  • Schedule and complete preventative maintenance tasks as assigned
  • Be aware of and operate within OSHA/TOSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Act) standards and company safety policies at all times
  • Assist Maintenance Supervisor with HVAC repairs and other projects as assigned
  • Assist leasing staff with placement of signs and flags and general curb appeal
  • Perform door hardware changes and rekey locks as necessary
  • Be available to work on-call
  • Secure the maintenance shop(s) at the close of every workday

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma and at least 1 year of experience in apartment maintenance or related field
  • General knowledge and skills related to carpentry, plumbing, basic electrical, and maintenance repair
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and current insurance
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office programs and ability to navigate the internet as well as email
