Fair’s Custom Meat Processing is a full service custom meat processor, from live animal to frozen cuts of meat, based out of Williamstown, KY. We are looking to fill a full-time apprentice position at our shop. This position would include processing livestock, cutting meat, breaking down equipment, and cleaning up at the end of the day. We offer a merit and skill-based pay scale. The more skills you show competency with will directly result in increased pay.
Position Requirements:
- Coachable
- Wants to be trained across multiple job skills
- Good Attitude
- Capable of doing physical labor
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
Responsibilities:
- Dispatching, quartering, and hanging livestock
- Perform meat cutting and packaging according to established standards
- Ensure food safety protocols are followed at all times
- Assist with preparation and production as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization
- Handle food with care and adhere to proper food handling procedures
Experience (preferred but not required):
- Previous experience in a food production setting and knife skills
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
