Job Description Applied Client Engineer
Our Client is looking for an Applied Client Engineer to join a new R&D function in the company.
You will work to ensure that we continue to be at the cutting edge of LLM capabilities by working on building and fine-tuning LLMs, retrieval augmented generation, and other technologies, and by identifying new possible Client functionality we can build into our product.
You will report directly to the CTO and co-founder as part of a small, agile, and cross-functional R&D team. This role represents an opportunity to meaningfully drive long-term AI roadmap for emissions calculation and sustainability compliance startup that is now emerging as a leader in the field.
What you'll do here.
The person in this role will need to:
Lead research projects aimed at improving the capabilities of the MLs/LLMs that is used in the core product(s)
Prototype new functionality using LLMs.
Be aware of and communicate the latest developments in Client/AI
Collaborate with our product and engineering team to help productionize the results of your research, and with partner organizations such as AWS, Anthropic, OpenAI, etc.
Experiment with new ways our data can be used to improve the product and identify and acquire new sources of relevant data.
Work Together with our data analysts' team, act as a hub of expertise in LLM usage and best practice for the whole organization.
What you bring to the table.
MS or PhD in Comp Sci in a Client-related field
2+ years of commercial software engineering experience with exceptional coding ability and a deep interest with LLMs.
Ability to apply your LLM knowledge with a product-oriented focus.
Demonstrable passion for developing Client- or LLM-powered products either through commercial experience or open-sourced projects you have worked on in your own time.
Comfortable with ambiguity of research environment.
Strong experience solving complex technical problems.
Collaborate with other development teams to integrate serverless functions into larger systems and ensure seamless communication between components.
Strong communication skills, and ability to distil technically complex concepts and data for an intelligent but non-Client audience.
