The Applications Systems Coordinator provides analytical support, monitoring and coordination of the daily workflow of all EMR and software programs used within the practice. Acts as a liaison between CCAY and software partners to maintain and improve daily operations.


PRIMARY FUNCTIONS - JOB DUTIES: The following duties are considered essential to the job. Qualified individuals must have the ability - with or without reasonable accommodation - to perform the following duties:

1) Responsible for monitoring and maintaining interfaces for the Electronic Medical Record systems in conjunction with our EMR partners, (i.e. Centricity, LabDaq, Interfax, Lynx, , Solution Reach).

2) Creates and maintains relationships associated with EMR solutions in support of enterprise strategies and objectives.

3) Assumes project leadership and coordination of clinical computer systems including, development, troubleshooting, education and implementation.

4) Assists with defining and modifying add on applications.

5) Collaborates and communicates timely and effectively with Practice Administrator and Management Team to ensure software programs used in daily operations are functioning properly.

6) Facilitates monthly superuser meetings to implement new or upcoming changes within the EMR system.

7) Prepares status reports on tasks assigned.

8) Uses software maintenance and report writing tools as required.

9) Utilizes basic knowledge, skills and ability to provide day-to-day support for assigned applications with the help of the IT project Manager.

10) Serves as HIPAA Security officer by keeping HIPAA Privacy and Security policies and procedures up to date, identifying and evaluating any threats to the confidentiality and integrity of PHI, ensuring staff is trained on HIPAA.

11) Monitors data access and investigates with Practice Administrator any HIPAA complaints or reporting breaches.

12) Continuously expands upon current skill set by attending training sessions.

13) Maintains and regular and punctual attendance.

14) Complies with all practice policies and procedures including CCAY’s Code of Conduct.

15) Performs other duties as assigned.


SECONDARY FUNCTIONS - JOB DUTIES: The following duties are considered secondary to the essential functions listed above:

1) Collaborates with HR to set-up necessary programs and user logins for newly hired staff and performs initial training related to the EMR system network.

2) Assists IT with, troubleshooting user log-ins, and day to day basic IT employee needs.

3) Performs staff training and updates materials for new software introduced within the Practice.

4) Maintains policies and procedures for IT operations.

Requirements:

Specific Education, Certification and Licensure, Training

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Associate Degree (preferably in Information Technology)

Essential Job-related Experience:

  • Functions of computer systems, hardware troubleshooting and templating
  • Proficient with operation of computers and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Preferred Job-related Experience:

  • Two (2) years of experience in an IT related field, healthcare IT experience strongly preferred.
  • Exposure to Electronic Medical Records systems, specifically EPIC

Job-related Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills (requires diplomacy, tact and a clear courteous and profession manner)
  • Detail oriented and ability to be self-motivated to complete duties in a timely manner
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and organize work
  • A patient, calm demeanor and willingness to help others
  • Ability to communicate with other technical professionals
  • Strong analytical skills to translate current system work flows into EMR effectively
  • Ability to collaborate among departments and promote teamwork
