Intern
Our Systems and Applications team in the analog drivers business is looking for a talented Electrical Engineering student to join our team this Summer as a Application Intern in our Plano, TX office. Our team works on analog drivers and switches for automotive and industrial applications. The successful candidate will work directly with Arun Vemuri, Carl Wu, Akio Kano, and Anand Gopalan during their internship. An intern working with the team can expect to learn about automotive electronic control and power distribution systems, purpose of integrated power switches, adjacent industrial applications, and develop electrical engineering skills such as circuit analysis and simulations, schematic capture in Altium, BOM selection, and layout, and use lab equipment during their time with our team.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform benchmarking analysis by collecting data and waveforms in the lab to gain deep understanding of analog solutions
- Develop technical application note describing how Renesas ICs elegantly solve complex customer problems. This work will need designing PCBs with Renesas ICs accounting for not only electrical performance but also thermal performance and will involve driving actuators such as pumps
- Participate and present analysis and results in team meetings, to management and to customers
Qualifications:
- Pursuing Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering
- Basic electrical engineering courses such as circuit theory, understanding of BJT and MOSFET operation, PCB design, PCB layout
- Developing PSpice models and GUIs is a plus
