Job description

Location: OCS, Inc. (Unclaimed Baggage): Operations
Position: Apparel Sorting
Basic Function: To sort each rack processed out of laundry on racks by categories.
General Responsibilities:
  • Maintain knowledge of load numbers of racks being sorted.
  • Take the apparel hangers racks they have processed and sub-sort the garments onto their perspective categorized racks.
  • Retain knowledge of the different categories being used.
  • When a specific category rack is full the sorter will pull it and take it to the pricing holding area, replace full rack with and empty z rack.
  • Must be able to maintain specified production numbers of racks sorted daily (current goal – 45 racks per day).
  • Keep an accurate count of the quantity of racks sorted and record on paperwork.
  • Pull any recycle items if you see them.
  • Organize and keep station clean.
  • Assist in spot cleaning as needed.
  • Assist in processing cargo product as needed.
  • Assist in wash area as needed.
  • Must be able to identify and maintain current load numbers on all products.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the different styles of clothing as well as latest trends.
  • Must be able to differentiate between various products.
  • Cross train within all operational departments.
  • All other tasks assigned by management.

Qualifications Requirements:
  • High School diploma or Equivalent
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Light to moderate lifting is required
  • Repetitive motion is required
Development Requirements:
  • Must be willing to learn various brands of clothing and fabric care
  • Must be willing to learn and differentiate between various products
Schedule Hours:
  • 40+ hours per week, 6:00 am – 2:30pm Mon. – Fri. Flexibility in scheduling is required.
  • Saturdays overtime may be required as necessary.
  • Will be required to sign up for and potentially work one Holiday on the retail floor as needed
  • Mandatory work days are the Friday before Memorial Day, the day before Fourth of July, the Friday before Labor Day, the Friday before Ski Sale and the Saturday before Thanksgiving.
Reporting Relationship: Reports directly to Production Manager
