Apparel Sewing Manager

Job Category: Full Time – DIRECT HIRE

Compensation: $70,000 - $85,000/Year D.O.E. + Full Benefits, 401K

Reports to: Production Director

Overview:

The Sewing Manager must have strong management skills with the ability to motivate the team. In addition, strong communication is highly needed and take initiatives without day-to-day guidance.

Responsibilities include:

·         Plan and organize the daily sewing schedule based on production deadlines

·         Manage/Balance sewing production lines and control WIP

·         Make sure samples and production meet company quality control standards

·         Review pre-production needs and maintain quantities to ensure production efficiency

·         Test perspective sewing machine operators

·         Work with a positive attitude in a fast paced, quick response environment

·         Ensure that the team is following health and safety regulations

·         Report to the Director of Production

Qualifications/Requirements:

·         Minimum 5 years of experience managing a sewing floor

·         Bilingual in English / Spanish required – both verbal and written

·         Technical skills in production of knits and wovens

·         Able to read tech packs and create sequencing

·         Must have a deep understanding of garment construction

·         Able to sew sample garments and demonstrate construction to sewing operators

·         Must understand time analysis and ability to perform time studies of sewing operations 

·         Ability to communicate effectively – both verbal and written

·         Ability to multi-task and re-prioritize in a fast-paced environment

·         Proficient in computer skills – MS Office
