We are seeking a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Pain Management practice in Minneapolis, MN as part of the Pediatric Advanced and Complex Care Team.
Join an established program providing pain management services for children at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital - our award-winning academic hospital is home to more than 50 pediatric specialties.

  • Practice independently on a collaborative, well-established and interdisciplinary team that consists of a Physician, Nurse Practitioner, and Social Worker, as well as extensively with the broader interdisciplinary disciplinary team.
  • The APP engages in independent decision making about health care needs and provides health care services to individuals. The APP obtains patient histories, performs physical and psychological health assessments, provides patient and family education and counseling, and ensures continuity of health care services for pediatric, adolescent and young adult patients with pain.
  • Assist families with navigating the health care system, fostering seamless care, and maximizing quality of life for patients and their families.
  • Serve populations that include pediatric oncology, surgical, solid organ and bone marrow transplantation, neonatology and pediatric intensive care, and cardiovascular disease patients.
  • Practice both in the inpatient setting and outpatient clinic.
  • Join a program embedded within the Division of Pediatric Oncology and Hematology with opportunities for professional development and continued program development.

Schedule:
  • Daytime schedule: Monday - Friday 8 am-4:30pm
  • No call responsibilities at this time
  • Full time: 1.0 FTE

We're Looking For a PA or NP Who Is:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and formal Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner program or a graduate of an accredited Physician's Assistant program.
  • Current MN RN license and be approved or eligible by the Minnesota Board of Nursing for prescription writing privileges or a current PA license with prescriptive authority through the MN Board of Medical Practice.
  • Certified through ANCC/AANP or eligible for ANCC/AANP national exam or through the NCCPA and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional collaboration abilities
  • Understands and places importance on patient care/service
  • Detail oriented and self-motivated
  • Education focused and a creative problem-solver
