Loma Linda University Faculty Medical Group, Transplant Institute is seeking a full time Nurse Practitioner to join our outpatient hepatology team. Our liver transplant program is one of the largest in California, averaging 120 transplants per year, with satellite clinics in Palm Springs, Murrieta, Moreno Valley, and Las Vegas. Ideal candidate has minimum 1 year experience as an NP, though new graduates will be considered.

This job will be a full-time outpatient position. Primary clinic location would be at the Transplant Institute in Loma Linda, CA. Applicant will also travel to our clinic in Las Vegas, Nevada (business expenses paid in accordance with policy).

Specific Job Duties

  • Manages patients with viral hepatitis, fatty liver, decompensated cirrhosis, hepatocellular carcinoma in collaboration as needed with supervising hepatologist
  • Communicates with pre- and post-transplant teams for completion and interpretation of transplant testing
  • Performs physical examinations and assessments, including ordering, interpreting and evaluating diagnostic tests and examinations
  • Documents clinic and followup care in the electronic medical record according to established policies and procedures
  • Keeps patient, family, and caregivers as applicable, informed regarding plan of care, e.g., expected outcomes, imaging and laboratory followup, transplant course, post-hospitalization followup
  • Encourages the patient, family and caregiver as applicable, to ask questions and be active participants in their care
  • Demonstrates a commitment to excellence and the exceeding of customer expectations by modeling behavior in the context of institutional values and the empowerment of professional governance of nursing practice
  • Practices within the NP scope of practice pursuant to standardized procedures and follows policies, protocols, techniques, guidelines, standardized procedures and state and federal regulations

Job Requirements

  • MSN with
    • Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Specialty
    • Family Nurse Practitioner Specialty, or
    • Gerontology Nurse Practitioner Specialty.
  • CA RN and NP license required.
  • DEA license
  • Will consider a new graduate with Nurse Practitioner Specialty Board Certification

Compensation & Benefits

The compensation range listed is for starting base compensation only and is adjusted based upon years of experience and/or faculty rank: $130,000 – $150,000. This amount does not include variable compensation or extra productivity and is subject to the individual department compensation plans. More information on compensation is discussed with the departments during the recruitment process.
