Apartment Leasing Agent

Tacoma property management company, McCormick International, Inc., is looking for a full-time Leasing Agent to become part of our expanding brand/company in Tacoma. The schedule for this position is Thursday through Monday. Days off are Tuesday and Wednesday (subject to change.) Hours of work are 9 AM to 6 PM.

We are searching for candidates with a lot of energy, who are conscientious, who work hard, who communicate well, and someone who will excel in this position. McCormick International is portfolio-based; all properties are owned by the company.

The Leasing Agent will be working under the supervision of the Community Manager and the Director of Operations. Someone who enjoys working with a small team of great people will fit best in this role.

As a Leasing Agent, you will be responsible for assisting with the leasing and administrative tasks of a residential apartment property. Your main duties will include:

-Replying to prospect inquiries via phone and email and scheduling tours.

- Conducting property tours for potential tenants and showcasing the features and amenities of the property. Tours take place during all working hours.

-Following up with prospects to confirm tours or to give a thank you and offer more info after a tour.
- Assisting prospective tenants with the application process and ensuring all required documents are collected.
- Preparing lease agreements and ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed accurately.
- Maintaining accurate records of all leasing activities and tenant interactions
- Collaborating with property management to ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations

-Inspecting apartments to make sure they are move-in ready

-Processing move-ins and move-outs

SKILLS
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:

-Ability and knowledge to use Outlook for email communications

- Strong knowledge of property management principles and practices
- Familiarity with Fair Housing regulations and guidelines
- Knowledge of the Military RPP program is preferred but not required
- Excellent office administration skills, including data entry, electronic filing, and document management
- Sales skills to effectively market the property and close leasing deals
- Ability to use Word and Excel programs and Adobe for PDF's and Signing documents is required
- Experience working with Rent Manager or similar property management software is preferred but not required
- Strong organizational skills, a great memory and attention to detail are required.

_ Must have own reliable transportation, a valid driver license and current insurance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with tenants, colleagues, and vendors.
