POSITION SUMMARY:
Promote and advance annual and special giving program at Health First Foundation with emphases on donor development, stewardship, and retention. Responsible for developing and engaging portfolio of donors through the donor continuum. Will lead acquisition and retention initiatives through direct mail, grateful patients, and other such activities. Will lead and collaborate with colleagues within the department and across the IDN for the success of Foundation initiatives and will ensure accurate recording, reporting and managing of donor information within scope.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  1. Engage, manage, and maintain an assigned portfolio of prospective and existing donors; cultivate, solicit and steward charitable giving to achieve Foundation objectives.
  2. Serve as active prospect identifier focusing on prospects for personal visits and moving annual donors through the donor pyramid into the next giving level based on donor interests and established entity and IDN goals. Make creative connections between and among people, events, programs, and their associated circles.
  3. Plan and implement multiple direct mail appeals annually, with a high degree of customization and focus on donor retention and increasing average gift amounts. Involves working with printers, mail-fulfillment vendors, and marketing staff. Coordinate production on all appeals, including but not limited to letter copy/theme, audience segmentation, approval processes, and mailing.
  4. Engage donors, volunteers, and Board members to plan, advance and implement successful fundraising initiatives and events.
  5. Lead development and implementation of IDN Associate Month of Giving by collaborating and engaging colleagues across the IDN to share impact of giving and participation opportunities.
  6. Act as contact/liaison for donors to ensure prospect strategies are advanced, provide expedient assistance to requests and successfully complete appropriate follow-up with constituents.
  7. Build and maintain relationships with IDN leaders and associates to assist customers navigating Health First services to ensure customer delight.
  8. Advise on budget needs as part of commitment to year-over-year improvement for return on investment and cost to raise a dollar goals.

Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's Degree.
Work Experience: Three years' in fundraising, relationship management, or relevant field.
Work Experience in lieu of education:
Licensure: None required.
Certification: none required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • MS Office products and other software related to field/role.
  • Communication - written, oral, auditory o Interpersonal to lead teams and engage with diverse audiences.
  • Time management including ability to work independently.
  • Flexibility to work beyond normal business hours.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Work Experience: Five years in fundraising, relationship management, or relevant field.
Work Experience in lieu of education:
Licensure:
Certification: CFRE certification.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Blackbaud Raisers Edge or other advanced database management system.
  • Public speaking.
  • Project management o Initiative.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Time split between donor meetings, office and event management environment.
  • May require extended walking, standing and/or sitting and looking at computer screen.
  • Hand-eye coordination.
  • Occasional bending, stooping and lifting, carrying or moving up to 10 lbs.
  • Ability to travel to/from Health First locations.
