Animal Control Officer (Part-Time)
The City of College Park seeks an experienced part-time Animal Control Officer to work 20 hours per week, including some nights and weekends. Some of the primary duties of the position are:
- Investigating resident complaints and allegations of animal cruelty.
- Removing animal remains from public and private property.
- Patrolling the city for stray and loose companion animals and injured wildlife.
The selected candidate must have excellent communication skills and be proficient with computers, in addition to the following:
- A high school diploma with at least one year post education
- A minimum of six months of animal handling experience
- A valid driver's license with good driving record
- MD DNR Wildlife Damage Control Operator permit (preferred) or must be obtained during the probational period.
- Animal Control Officer Certification (preferred) or must be obtained during the first year of employment.
