Animal Care Team Member

ZooWorld is hiring Animal Care Team Members that believe in their mission to enhance the lives of the zoo's animals, staff and guests through memorable and meaningful experiences.

A Zookeeper will:
- Provide daily care and maintenance for animals in a professional and compassionate manner.
- Feed, water, and clean animal enclosures according to established schedules and protocols.
- Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any concerns or changes to the appropriate supervisor.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinary staff.
- Assist with veterinary procedures, including animal restraint and handling.
- Maintain accurate records of Animal Care, including feeding schedules, medical treatments, and behavioral observations.
- Clean and sanitize animal enclosures, equipment, and common areas to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
- Provide exercise and enrichment activities for animals to promote physical and mental well-being.

The ideal candidate will have:

- Previous experience in working with animals in a professional setting
- Knowledge of animal husbandry practices and principles.
- Experience working with a variety of animals, including small mammals, birds, reptiles, and/or equine species.
- Ability to handle animals safely and confidently using appropriate restraint techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols accurately.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with Team Members, clients, and veterinary staff.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $12.50 - $14.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
