MercyOne Waterloo is looking to add two Locums Anesthesiologists to their team to cover the open dates below!
Open Dates:
- October 7-11
- October 14-18 (need two locum providers)
- Oct 21-25
- Nov 4-8
- Nov 11-15
- Nov 18-22
- Nov 25-28 (two providers needed on 28 & 29)
- Dec 2-6
- Dec 9-13
- Dec 16-20
- Dec 23-27 (need two providers)
- Dec 30-Jan 3 (need two providers)
- Sporadic ongoing coverage
*Provider must be available to cover all or majority of dates to be considered. Please list availability at time of name clear to avoid redirect.*
Details:
- Dates of coverage: Specific dates TBD, but need will be ongoing sporadic coverage. Local providers strongly preferred due to sporadic need.
- Schedule: 7a - 5p. Locums rarely take call, but it's a possibility.
- Reason for need: physician left, provider shortage
- EMR: Cerner
- Procedures: General surgical adult and pediatric cases. No neonatal. Minor nerve blocks, IV regional anesthesia, spinal, epidural, OB, Neuro is basic bread and butter with 95% spine. Thoracic and vascular some thoracoscopy maybe ab fistula but no aorta surgeries and no complicated vascular or complex orthopedic.
- Average number of surgical cases per day: 4-6
- Will the Locum Physician be Required to Supervise CRNAs? (Please Explain): No, there is one CRNA that is supervised by the physician who is on first call
- Trauma level 3
- Number of Anesthesiologists in Practice: 12 Anesthesiologists and 1 CRNA
- Will the Locum Tenens Physician be Responsible for Preparing the Anesthesia Cart? No
- All ages, for Peds it is mostly ENT - tubes & tonsils
- Number of Operating Rooms: Usually 9 rooms running at one time
- Do You Require Fellowship Training for Cardiac or Pediatric Cases? No
- Local providers strongly preferred due to sporadic ongoing coverage. However, will pay for full travel if needed.
- Willing to accept locum, locum to perm, perm
- Credentialing timeframe: 4-6 weeks if provider/agency is on top of things, can do quicker if clean app
- Physicians requesting clinical privileges are expected to provide evidence of graduation from an accredited medical school, with Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy and graduate of a certified ACGME or AOA approved anesthesia residency program
- Board Certified - Required (Not accepting BE)
- Active IA license or IMLC
- NRP, ACLS
- Local/Drive in candidate - Strongly Preferred
