Job Summary
Works under the supervision of the procedural/operating room area Director or Manager to facilitate the safe and effective invasive procedures, ensuring that the procedural room environment is safe, that equipment cleaned properly, and that the procedural rooms meet cleaning requirements that that maximize patient safety.
Essential Functions
The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be al/ inclusive.
Sets up procedural/operating room equipment according to procedural case schedules.
Cleans procedural/operating room following each case by removing all trash, hamper bags, red bags, and soiled linen, thoroughly cleans procedural/operating bed, equipment, and mops floors after trash and patient are out of the procedural/operating room. replacing hamper bags and trash bags, disposing of used supplies, cleaning, and returning equipment to appropriate storage areas.
Ensures the cleaning, maintenance and preparation of procedural/surgical equipment, and supplies for distribution.
Maintains inventory of clean and sterilized surgical equipment, instruments, and supplies in accordance with Carrollton Regional Medical Center policies and procedures and regulatory standards.
Collaborates and maintains control and availability of inventory; orders supplies; documents equipment used and cart supplies; maintains applicable records and files.
Pulls procedural/surgical cases for each procedure prior to the day of scheduled case and initials applicable preference card. Pulls addon/emergency cases as soon as the case is scheduled.
Checks outdates and stocks procedural/operating rooms and equipment areas as time permits.
Follows infection control policies, AORN recommendation practices, OSHA guidelines, and other regulatory requirements to assure a safe work environment for self, coworkers, and patients.
Covers call for procedural/operating rooms in a manner that supports Carrollton Regional Medical Center and the assigned department fairly by willingness to divide the call burden equally among available staff for the service line.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of infection prevention and regulatory sterilization standards. Knowledge of the theory and application of sterile and aseptic techniques.
Knowledge of human anatomy, departmental procedures, and implementation tools and technologies to facilitate a physician's performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
Communicates with CRMC patients, physicians, and co-workers in a manner that exhibits excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Approaches every task in a manner that is consistent with Carrolton Regional Medical Center's team approach expectations.

Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma required. Certification of Anesthesia Technologist preferred
Minimum 1 year experience preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS).
Comments: BLS or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer
Working Conditions
Physical Requirements: Continuously stand/walk or lift/handle/carry material or equipment of moderate weight (20 to 50 lbs.). Examples: Nurses, LVNs, and physical therapists.
Environment: Located in an indoor area with frequent exposure to mild physical discomfort from dust, fumes, temperature, and noise. Examples: patient cares providers and laboratory technicians
Respiratory Category: Job tasks potentially include frequent or routine exposure to aerosolized particulate matter or infectious respiratory droplet nuclei and required fit testing and the use of respiratory protection is a condition of employment."
