Job Summary:
The Anesthesia Technician assists with direct patient care activities, supporting the Anesthesia Providers during delivery of anesthesia. Working in the operating room, the incumbent provides technical services to the anesthesiologist including blood analysis, patient care equipment set-up and inspection, and assistance with basic patient care procedures. Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:
A minimum of one-year direct patient care experience is required. In lieu of one year experience, see education requirement. A minimum of two years of direct patient care experience preferred.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:Completion of a certificate, diploma or degree program in healthcare or science related field is required. In lieu of a certificate, diploma or degree, a current post-secondary pertinent health care certification may be accepted (ex: EMT, CNA, Paramedic, MA). Associate degree from an accredited Anesthesia Technology program or Paramedic is preferred.
LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
