A leading Florida not-for-profit senior living provider, Convivial Life, is seeking an Ancillary Services Director who will oversee multiple departments at our property in lovely Jensen Beach, FL. The position entails oversight of Facilities Maintenance, Capital Projects, Grounds Maintenance, Security, and Housekeeping & Porter Services.

Ideal candidates must have strong managerial background in developing team members, and track record of driving results in making quality first impressions a priority for guests and residents. Experience in engineering, physical plant management, or hospitality management is a plus.

Our property has over 100,000 square feet of conditioned space and outdoor amenities on a 30+ acre campus. We are planning a major expansion with residential homes and new clubhouse that will provide growing opportunities both financially and professionally. JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the community Executive Director and serving on the Executive Team, Ancillary Services Director is responsible for directing the Environmental Services, Transportation, Security, Facilities and Grounds departments of Convivial Life’s communities in accordance with current federal, state and local laws, guidelines and regulations. The Ancillary Services Director ensures that a high degree of quality resident care is maintained at all times. This position is subject to call backs during emergency conditions such as severe weather, evacuation and post-disaster. The Ancillary Services Director respectfully interacts with all residents, family members, visitors, colleagues and staff. This is a safety sensitive position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide outstanding customer service by ensuring that residents and their families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere, which recognizes the individual’s needs and rights.
  • Provide overall daily leadership for the departments.
  • Establish and direct the implementation of written policies and procedures that reflect the goals and objectives of Convivial Life.
  • Review policies and procedures periodically to ensure compliance with current regulations.
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities by embracing and acting in accordance with our organizational values, policies & procedures.
  • Responsible for assuring the overall quality and efficiency of all departmental activities in compliance with established standards, policies and routines.
  • Interview, hire, and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraises performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems with the input and guidance of the Executive Director and Human Resources.
  • Maintain an effective and skilled group of workers by interviewing, hiring and training qualified candidates. Continually monitor skill levels while training, coaching and encouraging subordinates to use and enhance their skills.
  • Must be able to motivate while maintaining good working relationships with staff, residents and families. Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Study production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment and keeps time and production records.
  • Prepare and maintain capital budget.
  • Coordinates and participates in annual preventative safety inspections.
  • Serves as Safety Director and on committees as assigned.
  • Inspect projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes and all other regulations.
  • Requisition supplies or materials to complete projects.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.

ESSENTIAL MENTAL AND PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS
The essential mental and physical functions listed below are required in order for an employee to be able to perform the essential functions of this position.

  • On-call 24 hours, 7 days a week for emergencies and building issues requiring immediate attention.
  • Ability to read and write, follow written and verbal instructions, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Thinking critically; defined as reading, understanding, and taking appropriate action on detailed and complex information.
  • Standing for long periods of time
  • Walking long distances daily
  • Lifting, pushing and carrying up to 100 lbs
  • Repetitive actions/motion of one or both hands
  • Hearing ordinary conversation and office sounds
  • Verbal communication in person and on the phone
  • Written communication by hand and on PC
  • Work schedule includes evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Administration, Business Administration or other related field
  • Five or more years of leadership experience in a senior living or CCRC environment
  • Must have outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Must be a self-starter who possesses strong organizational skills and polished communication skills
  • Understanding of Florida building codes/laws and State/Federal Regulations for Assisted Living Facilities
  • Computer literacy which includes, but is not limited to, Microsoft Office suite

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
