Anatomy and Physiology Instructor
Charter College, an established and growing career college with locations in Washington, Montana, New Mexico, Alaska, and Southern California is expandingits programs at our Anchorage campus!
We are currently seeking talented, enthusiastic, employees to teach our Anatomy and Physiology classes in a blended course environment.

Position Description:
An Instructor is responsible for instruction of students where applicable in accordance with established policies, procedures, and Charter College requirements. The instructor will be responsible for delivering quality curriculum content in a variety of modalities such as online, on-ground, and/or blended.
The position typically reports to a Diagnostic Imaging Advisor.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Instructors:
  • Provide curriculum insight and guidance to the Vice President of Academic Affairs and/or the Instructional Design team regarding continuous improvement initiatives for the program.
  • Serve as liaison regarding program content and delivery between the Program Faculty and the Program Manager.
  • Participate in Program Advisory Committee meetings as required.
  • Participate in curriculum meetings as required.
  • Assist other Program Faculty as needed.
  • Participate in student retention efforts. Lead Instructors are expected to remind students of missed assignments encourage and maintain participation of all students on your roster, and promptly identify and assist “at risk” students, referring these students for appropriate assistance.
  • Prepare and provide all lecture, laboratory, and clinical instruction according to the required curriculum.
  • Follow current course outlines, objectives, and evaluation mechanisms for the program and/or develop such when indicated by the Program Manager.
  • Maintain a lesson plan of daily instructional events.
  • Monitor student attendance and retention and document as required by the administration.
  • Process course end grades according to policy.
  • Grade assignments, return graded assignments and relevant feedback to students, and assigning final grades for all students in a timely manner.
  • Provide educational assistance to students during regularly scheduled times (i.e., office hours) or by appointment.
  • Substitute in classes when necessary.
  • Advise students as it relates to school policies, satisfactory performance, etc. Maintain communication with the Program Manager regarding such activity.
  • Submit in writing, supply, and equipment needs to the Program Manager.
  • Monitor all equipment and supply inventory in locked facilities.
  • Secure consumable supplies as well as educational materials from the administrative office when needed.
  • Maintain a professional appearance.
  • Communicate with Program Manager and Student Academic Advisor on all issues related to students.
  • Maintain professional expertise (faculty development) to meet accreditation standards by attending educational seminars in the professional field, reading current literature, attending online courses, etc.
  • Ensure that students follow the catalog guidelines daily.
  • Attend all scheduled mandatory meetings.
  • Serve on committees (e.g., curriculum development, retention, etc.) as assigned based on expertise or campus needs.
  • Perform other duties as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in physiology or related topic such as: Biology Bio Physics, Molecular Biology, Pre Med, Neuroscience, Public Health, Nursing.
  • 3 years of work experience in a related field such as: Medical or Teaching Anatomy and Physiology.
  • Teaching experience is not required but a plus.

COMPENSATION:
  • Part Time - Hourly
  • $25.00 to $30.00 hourly
  • Compensation dependent on experience, knowledge, and education level
