Opportunity at a Glance

Chamberlain College of Nursing has an immediate need for a part-time professor of Anatomy & Physiology in our Bachelor of Science in Nursing program in Jacksonville. 

The course of instruction is:

Anatomy & Physiology I-IV with Lab (BIOS-251 thru BIOS-256)

Days- 2 days a week between May 1st - June 21st (8 weeks are continuous)

Time- 9-12 (lecture) & 9-11 (lab)

This is a four-course sequence in which human Anatomy and physiology are studied using a body systems approach. Coursework emphasizes interrelationships between form and function at the gross and microscopic levels of organization.

Topics include:

  1. Basic anatomical and directional terminology, muscle tissues, fundamental concepts and principles of cell biology, history and the integumentary and skeletal systems
  2. Fundamental concepts and principles of the muscular and nervous systems, special senses and the endocrine system
  3. Cardiovascular, immune and respiratory systems

Courses typically meet twice per week (lecture followed by lab) for eight-week sessions and are typically scheduled weekdays. 

The face-to-face interaction in lab and classroom is blended with technology (such as online discussions and online assignments) for an enhanced learning environment. Commitment is on a course by course basis.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and provide students with an approved Adtalem Global Education syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus, and which includes the terminal course objectives.
  • Organize, prepare, and regularly revises and update all course materials.
  • Use appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students.
  • Model effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning.
  • Set clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examinations dates, and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories.
  • Ensure that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.
  • Demonstrate consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provide timely feedback to students.
  • Comply with all policies and standards
Qualifications
  • Master's Degree is required for all faculty positions (with 18 graduate hours in the subject being taught for undergraduate teaching). Required
  • Faculty must have requisite subject matter expertise and outstanding communication skills.
  • Faculty must also have excellent motivational and instructional skills in a diverse and non-traditional environment.
  • Must be able to work in a collegial manner and facilitate the efforts of diverse groups.
  • Additional requirements driven by state licensing or accreditation considerations may apply. Required

Additional Information

Chamberlain Visiting Professor Position - Campus:
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected compensation rate for this position is between $1,120 per assignment to $7,245 per assignment, depending on the candidate’s education and experience.
Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as type of course taught; experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
