The Analytical Lab Technician performs chemical analyses of water; conducts product and materials performance and characterization studies; maintains and reports detailed and complete records of all lab activities; maintains laboratory supplies and equipment.


Compensation Data: Non-exempt salary starting at $23.00/hr based upon experience. Performance Bonus eligible.

Travel: None

Location: Suwanee, GA The schedule is 100% onsite M-F, 7:00am-3:30pm.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Analytical Lab
    1. Performs routine and specialized chemical analyses of water.
    2. Supports quality control by performing routine and specialized analyses, and report generation for activated carbons.
    3. Assists in problem resolution by demonstrating proficiency in the principles and techniques of analytical chemistry, adsorption, ion exchange, membrane separations, filtration, disinfection, and microbiology.
    4. Supports decision making of company personnel by accurately recording, tabulating, and compiling data, writing full reports or summaries, and providing documented evidence of work performed.
    5. Ensures the smooth operation of the laboratory by specifying testing equipment, performing material procurement, and maintaining inventory.
    6. Provides for timely completion of projects by keeping Analytical Laboratory clean and organized to support efficient testing.
    7. Ensures validity of testing by maintaining, troubleshooting, and assuring accurate calibration and operation of all laboratory equipment and test kits, including Ion Chromatographs, TOC Analyzer, AA, Laser Particle Counter, Surface Area Analyzer, Spectrophotometer, Alkalinity Titrator, and all laboratory probes, primarily pH and Conductivity.
    8. Ensures compliance with the “Laboratory Chemical Hygiene Plan” by following the guidance on health and safety with chemicals in the laboratory, including general safety precautions, chemical use, handling, storage, and disposal.
    9. Protects the company’s investment in the laboratory and personnel by maintaining the facility in accordance with established and other appropriate housekeeping and safety procedures.
    10. Provides customers with timely analysis and ensures record retention by maintaining data in the laboratory’s data management processes, e.g., Salesforce, and by developing laboratory computer applications.

  1. Mechanical Laboratory
    1. Performs tests, records data, summarizes results and prepares project reports.
      1. Assists with investigations of field and manufacturing problems by applying fundamental water treatment knowledge along with inspection and testing.
      2. Contributes to production quality control by performing routine structural and performance audit testing of manufactured components and systems.
    2. Fabricates and assembles testing fixtures and prototype systems.
    3. Performs maintenance and setup duties involving the test bench equipment, plumbing systems, machine shop and cycle test room equipment.
    4. Assists with investigations of field and manufacturing problems by applying fundamental water treatment knowledge along with inspection and testing.
    5. Contributes to production quality control by performing routine structural and performance audit testing of manufactured components and systems.

What you will need to succeed:

Education & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of an associate degree in chemistry or at least 2 years of related work experience with demonstrated competencies in analytical chemistry.

  • Able to stand at least 6 hours per day.
