Job Summary
Reports to the Technology Director and is responsible for assisting the day-to-day laboratory operations of the analytical testing labs, which includes supervision of employees, maintenance coordination, internal customer interactions, and maintaining the quality standards set forth in the Corporate Technology Analytical Quality Manual.
Essential Functions
Participate in the operation of the laboratory in a safe and cost-effective manner
Supervise day to day activities, including monitoring workload, assigning responsibilities, and scheduling of personnel.
Scheduling and maintaining calibrations associated with the lab.
Interact as technical support to customers involving testing issues.
Ability to troubleshoot equipment, such as minor repairs when required.
Specialize in test procedures for the responsible Analytical Laboratories, developing new test methods for non-routine procedures
Handle maintenance work orders.
Monitor purchasing for the responsible lab area(s).
Willingness to participate in trade shows; some travel may be required.
Knowledge of ISO 17025 required.

Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or other related field and five to seven years of related, progressively responsible experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced degree is a plus. Previous experience with people leadership is required. Requires a strong working knowledge of the polymer industry.
