Job Description
Responsibilities:
The Analytical Engineer will perform thermal, structural and functional modeling of energetic components and systems in support of design and development of aerospace and defense programs. Interact with design and project engineers to ensure design, analysis and testing support development risk reduction.
- Develop analytical models to assess the ability of EBA&D products to meet functional requirements.
- Envision and assess alternate concepts to meet functional requirements
- Supporting project and operations teams by providing expert level assistance
- Support existing products and product upgrades
- Participate in failure analysis activities
- Perform reliability analysis of energetic systems
Requirements:
The successful candidate must have a BS/MS in an engineering discipline and a minimum of 8 years of design and/or analysis of aerospace and defense products. Strong background in Finite Elements is required.
Required experience includes:
- Demonstrated experience performing thermal and/or structural analysis of component level designs.
- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills for interaction with various levels of management and with customers.
- Written reports, continuous improvement projects, power point presentations, and leading problem solving teams are all expected to be developed skills.
- Strong follow through and ability to work with Engineers to develop analytical models in support of product development, testing, and failure investigations.
- Proficient with Microsoft office suite software.
- Must be able to read and interpret technical product drawings.
Desired skills: Experience with ANSYS and SolidWorks preferred. Advanced degree preferred. Experience with energetic materials a plus. Ability to perform explicit dynamic analyses also a strong preference.
