SUMMARY

Performs analytical research and development activities for the purpose of designing/improving a manufacturing process or technology by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Participates in development of new processes by applying analytical skills and training
  • Participates in the development of new and innovative Analytical Chemistry and methodology, supporting manufacturing, and regulatory needs. Facilitates and supports analytical technology transfers
  • Participates in the development of key technologies and transfer strategies that function well in a manufacturing environment
  • Plans and formulates aspects of analytical research and development proposals such as objectives or purpose of project, applications that can be utilized from findings, cost of project, equipment, and human resource requirements
  • Develops, implements, and validates analytical methods and procedures
  • Keeps accurate records and documents experimentation
  • Develops a comprehensive understanding of internal, corporate, and ICH stability guidelines to provide support to the Corden Pharma Stability Program
  • Participates in manufacturing site activities, such as troubleshooting and analytical problem resolving
  • Develops an understanding of QEH&S principles and regulatory affairs
  • Analyzes batches of drug substance, intermediates and raw materials to be used in clinical or registration programs
  • Responsible for properly managing the generation and accumulation of hazardous and non-hazardous waste
  • Works flexible hours including weekends and nights to accommodate the production/validation schedule

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related sciences with 3 years of relevant experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and analytical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publications that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply statistical concepts such as significant figures and analysis of variance.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Domestic and international travel required.

Actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.
