The primary responsibility of the Analyst I - Cyber Security role is to monitor Cyber Security appliances to identify events that require escalated analysis. This entry-level Analyst Is a member of the Cyber Security operations team and collaborates with the other team members of the Cyber Security team in support of a comprehensive Cyber Security program.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with SOC team members.
- Monitor the SOC mailbox to identify and analyze incoming emails for potential security threats.
- Escalate alerts needing deeper analysis to Level 2 SOC analysts.
- Gather and report metrics for all property security systems.
- Evaluate, and assist with the maintenance of assigned security systems following industry best practices.
- Participate in the investigation of security incidents and prepare reports, as necessary.
- Stay updated on current vulnerabilities, response strategies, and mitigation techniques essential for supporting Cyber Security operations.
- Generate regular reports for security solutions on both network and host-based systems.
- Maintain a clean and secure workspace.
- Consistent and punctual attendance is fundamental to this role.
- Execute any additional relevant tasks as delegated.
- Participate in daily status calls with the IT department.

Minimum Qualifications:
- 21 years of age.
- Proof of authorization to work in the United States
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Nevada Gaming Control Board registration and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
- A degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information technology, or industry recognized certifications are preferred.
- 1-2 years of practical experience in working with Information Technology Systems, or equivalent educational background.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to triage and resolve critical technical issues.
- Must be able to collaborate with other teams, vendors, and contractors.
- Experience configuring and installing information security applications.
- Hands-on experience with SOC tools including but not limited to SIEM, IPS, NAC, DLP, and EDR is preferred.
- Fundamental understanding of encryption technologies.
- Understanding of common network traffic, i.e., Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), internet traffic, and mail.
- A good understanding of Microsoft operating systems is required, and experience with Linux, MacOS, or mainframe is a bonus.
- Ability to assess network activity and system configuration for anomalous activity to determine system security status.
- Knowledge and understanding of network protocols, network devices, multiple operating systems.
- The ability to assess, prioritize, and differentiate between potential intrusion attempts and false alarms.
- Experience with virtual machine software and how to install and configure a guest operating system.
- Maintain a professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance adhering to Company appearance standards.

- Provide off-hours support on an infrequent, but as needed basis. (Potential shifts may run 24/7 due to the need of the business.)
