  AMS Little Rock will open its doors to students in the 2024-2025 academic year. During the 2023-2024 school year, this position will play a critical role in the setup of school operations and student/family recruitment, engagement, and enrollment in the months leading up to our launch.

Qualifications

Technical Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma, GED or higher 
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred   
  • Must be able to pass a background check  
  • Proficient with computer systems and Microsoft Office software (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft SharePoint, etc.) 
  • Typing speed of 50 words per minute with accuracy  
  • Proficiency in working on and within virtual meeting platforms (Microsoft Teams, Zoom) 
  • Experience with student information systems, experience with PowerSchool highly preferred

Responsibilities

The role of the registrar is responsible for the administration, coordination, organization, and communication of the student enrollment and attendance reporting process and student cumulative file management. This critical team member is also responsible for accurate student database information and related reports. 

Prior to School Launch (2023-Summer 2024)

  • Hold high expectations for self and others to achieve and surpass AMS goals 
  • In preparation for our school’s launch, support family recruitment and enrollment events. These events might require some evening and weekend time commitments. 
  • Support in the setup of school’s front office systems and structures  
  • Support in the setup and transfer of application data into enrollment systems 
  • Communicate with local educational institutions and families regarding enrollment documentation needs  
  • Support in the technical setup of the school’s master schedule  

 

School Launch and Beyond (After Summer 2024) 

  • Hold high expectations for self and others to achieve and surpass AMS goals 
  • Responsible for student enrollment and registration processes and documentation, as well as the management of student withdrawals on an as-needed basis.  
  • Responsible for proactive and timely communication with leadership team on communication and needs from families and community members   
  • Responsible for requesting and providing student records from educational institutions as needed 
  • Establishes and maintains storage of student academic records 
  • Support student schedule distribution and revision processes 
  • Evaluates and verifies required enrollment documentation submitted by families  
  • Maintains automated (and manual) student records; generates reports, attendance sheets, and class lists and other necessary reports 
  • Maintains attendance databases and extracurricular activity records for all students 
  • Maintains attendance letters and communication with parents 
  • Verifies correct grade reporting and reports from all teachers with the support of the leadership team 
  • Prepares and prints report cards by grading periods 
  • Provide information about local high school admission requirements and contacts to families 
  • Provides information and assistance to new students and their parents 
  • Other role-related duties as assigned

Goal 1: Support AMS Little Rock to meet enrollment goals for our founding year, 2024-2025. This goes beyond recruitment strategies and application counts, but truly encompasses meaningful engagement and communication with the families who have chosen to trust us with their child’s education.  

Building Excellence 

Goal 2: Drives operational excellence by consistently adhering to district operating procedures for successful student enrollment and registration (high rate of accuracy/student file and process checklists and trackers) 

Goal 3: Acts with urgency and precision to produce and disseminate essential reports for student schedules, attendance, and grades by all communicated deadlines 

Sustaining Excellence in Our Community  

Goal 4: Support operational and cultural excellence at AMS Little Rock to inspire 1. 90% or more of all K-8 families to report high levels of satisfaction with the school at different points throughout the year and 2. At least 90% of our K-7 students and their families to remain with AMS Little Rock in 2025-2026.  

 

What to Expect From Our Process:  

We will personally review all applications and contact you directly for Stage 1 if we feel your experiences match with our leadership criteria. We strive to do this within the first week of an application coming to us.   

  • Step 1: Phone Call with AMS Arkansas Executive Director. Each candidate will receive communication on what to expect during this call.  
  • Step 2: Performance Task. Candidates that move on from Stage 1 will engage in a brief thought exercise and produce a deliverable to help us learn a bit more about your values, behaviors, and skills. 
  • Step 3: Final Panel Interview. Candidates that move on from Stage 2 to this final step will interview with a panel of senior leaders at AMS. This final interview will include an opportunity to dive deeper into the performance task, traditional and scenario-based questions, and a role play experience.
