AMR’s Service Department is looking for an individual to train and develop for our service team. Our team services the natural gas industry as the Thermo-Fisher representative for the Mid-Atlantic region installing new or upgrading remote telemetry units. The units monitor the gas flow at several points across the country for customers’ designated SCADA departments via Cellular, BGAN and VSAT communication modems. These “RTUs” are powered either by solar or AC/DC systems depending on the location. The telecom equipment is installed at each site and verified by the companies’ IT and SCADA department.
Job Description:
- Inspection, installation, troubleshooting, and repair of systems in the field
- Communicate with customers to coordinate meetings, schedule, notification tickets and 811 tickets
Job Specification:
- Weekly travel -typically Monday through Thursday, occasionally Friday
- Company vehicle provided as well as travel expenses paid
- Must have driver’s license, clean driving record and active auto insurance
- High school diploma or equivalent
- A motivated, self-starter who can complete tasks with limited supervision
- Mechanically and electrically- inclined
- Works well as a team player
- Detail- oriented and organized
- Experience with or willing to learn:
- Cellular signals, frequencies, and types of equipment
- Electrical installations, electrical code, conduit types and bodies
- Cable types, sizes, limitations
- Fiber types, sizes, limitations and terminations
- Ethernet, serial, copper terminations
- Solar equipment types and outputs
- Ohms law
- Digital Multimeter functions
- Computer software: Basic Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Google Maps, Google Earth
- Networking hardware, IP addressing, RS232, RS485, Full & Half-Duplex
- Serial line Communications protocols, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP
- Read & understand Schematics and network plot maps
