Form of workThe Ammonia Refrigeration Maintenance Engineer is responsible for properly maintaining the Ammonia Refrigeration system following the current PSM Program and facility maintenance repairs at Hanson Logistics Benton Harbor facility.
Essential functions:
- Maintain refrigeration systems pressures and temperatures
- Maintain freezer doors, dock doors, dock levelers and vehicle restraints
- PM of all equipment in a timely manner (work orders)
- Ensure warehouse safety items (fire extinguishers, sprinkler system, back-up lighting) function properly
- Must have excellent maintenance record keeping
- Proper house cleaning of the machine room, maintenance shop, maintenance office and sprinkler riser rooms
- Provide leadership and direction to facility maintenance team
- Attendance – comply with the current attendance program
Knowledge skills and abilities required:
- Provide Ammonia Refrigeration training or current experience
- Familiar with a PSM Program operations, PHA’S, RMP’S, Compliance audits, SOP’s and P&ID’
- Able to complete computer generated work orders for the refrigeration system in a timely manner
- Strong mechanical background
- General electrical troubleshooting skills – 480/3 phase
- Willing to participate in further education for the refrigeration system and Haz-Mat compliance at the company expense
- Strong communication skills – able to speak and listen clearly and be understanding to others needs
- Excellent documentation skills and record keeping
- Microsoft knowledge preferred
- Position requires 24 on-call assistance
- Safety orientated
- High school diploma or GED is required
