AML/CFT Analyst
- Possess a proficient knowledge of and adhere to all federal and state laws and the BSA regulations and interpretations related to the industry.
- Possess a knowledge of bank products and services.
- Review and analyze alerts generated by the AML monitoring system and determine if further investigation is warranted.
- Research and identify the patterns and anomalies in complex transactions to detect and report suspicious activity related to money laundering and terrorist financing.
- Complete investigations to determine whether or not SARs should be filed and support decisions with appropriate justification.
- Draft suspicious activity reports for review by AML/CFT Officer.
- Review new account documentation for compliance with customer due diligence, including beneficial ownership information.
- Perform watchlist screenings (OFAC and 314a) and review watch list matches.
- Assist with enhanced due diligence reviews of high-risk customers/accounts.
- Assist with preparation and completion of CTRs.
- Review CTRs for accuracy and submission to FinCEN.
- Research issues and respond to questions from staff.
- Assist with BSA training for bank personnel.
- Assist with developing, tracking and documenting of BSA policies and procedures.
- Assist with preparation for BSA examinations and independent audits.
- Stay up to date with relevant industry best practices and typologies by reading articles, attending training and conferences.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School or equivalent
- Proficient in excel and word,
- Self-initiated, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities,
- Detail oriented with the ability to work complex research issues,
- Strong people skills including oral and written communication,
- Ability to work in a multi-task, fast paced environment, and with strict deadlines, and high confidentiality,
- Preferred experience involving BSA/AML and compliance functions.
