Position Summary

The Northwest Center @ Amazon team operates in a fast-paced and demanding corporate environment where we provide professional 5-star customer service across several program divisions. The Signage Installer team works in partnership with JLL to support the installation of workplace postings throughout Amazon corporate spaces in the Puget Sound region. The team ensures a high quality of service and customer satisfaction.

The entire Signage Installer team manages requests to install signage submitted electronically via tickets by Amazon employees and vendor partners of Amazon working on the Amazon campus. The Signage Installer Lead is an independent contributor who will provide daily direction of duties to the Signage Installer team. The Lead will delegate projects to Installers, ensuring communication with customers is timely and polished, while monitoring the completion of tasks and managing signage inventory and ticket trackers. The Lead will also post and maintain signage in various locations within Amazon corporate buildings, however their priority will be to provide day-to-day direction and operational leadership to the Signage Installer team. The Lead will need to be comfortable with providing feedback to Installers in the moment for operational efficiency and provide input to the Assistant Program Manager regarding performance of Signage Installer team.

The ideal candidate will have an inclination for leadership and thrive in autonomy, planning, organizing and prioritizing their work on a daily basis. Attention to detail requiring an eye for quality and aesthetics, and the ability to maintain a professional demeanor through all interactions is key. This position operates autonomously for the most part, working independently on daily duties, meeting daily expectations and time management, with effective communication, problem-solving and team collaboration.

Location: Seattle - South Lake Union
Schedule: 7am - 6pm Mon - Fri (may require some night & weekend shifts)
Wage: Starting Wage: $29.19 per hour | Full Wage Range: $29.19 - $34.73 per hour

Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions
  • Coordinate administrative personnel responsibilities for the team including but not limited to coordination of installation, ticket management, signage orders, and inventory management.
  • Plan and develop employee work schedules, coordinating break coverage ensuring the best use of resources.
  • Ensure Signage Installers abide by project guidelines; provide feedback to team on quality and timeliness of installations.
  • Work closely with the Assistant Program Manager to bring attention to team members’ performance and collaborate on coaching.
  • Participate in interviewing Signage Installer candidates and training new team
  • Communicate in a friendly and professional manner to ensure customer-centric interactions. Help reinforce communication practices and provide guidance on customer interactions to help provide a positive experience with the customer.
  • Assist with new tasks, processes, or projects as needed to support evolving team requirements, other NWC divisions, and Amazon partners.
  • Assume day-to-day responsibility for assigned projects and successful task completion.
  • Provide hands-on support by installing various vinyl and adhesive workplace postings according to floor plans and other resources provided.
  • Uphold consistent correspondence regarding projects and tickets.
  • Work independently from other team members for all or part of shift.
  • Utilize, organize, clean, and maintain essential installation tools.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and organized job site during installation.
Needed Experience & Requirements
Education
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associate preferred
Experience
  • Minimum 2 years customer service, signage installation, or administrative support experience
  • Proficiency with MS Windows, Excel, and Outlook e-mail

Working Conditions & Physical Demands
  • Must be able to frequently carry and lift a backpack containing a laptop and other supplies, up to 50 pounds.
  • Will need to carry supplies to other buildings.
  • Encompasses a combination of desk work and actively visiting several Amazon buildings so the ability to walk consistently within a 1.5-mile radius is required.
  • Ability to walk up to several miles each day.
  • Ability to utilize a ladder or step-stool with proper safety training provided.
  • Ability to read, write, communicate, and comprehend the English language.
  • Ability to see both distance and details at close range, within a few feet of the observer (with or without corrective lenses).
  • Ability to identify and understand the speech of another person (with or without a personal auditory hearing device).
  • Ability to work flexible hours including occasional changes in schedule according to project needs. Occasional earlier or later start times, nights and weekends may arise.
