Position Overview
Reporting to the Director of Development, the Alumni & Advancement Coordinator is an integral member of a small development team that works closely with the communications department. This role works on various fundraising activities, including donor cultivation, individual giving, special events management, and oversight of the school's small but growing, Alumni community. • You ask why things didn't work, make recommendations, and ensure they work seamlessly in the future.
  • You deliver work with a sense of urgency. You are precise under pressure and calm in situations that could fluster others. The challenges of a fast-paced, high-intensity role drive you.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Supporting all facets of MMFS's fundraising initiatives with innovative, relevant, and meaningful organizational processes designed to help achieve fundraising goals
  • Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures for maintaining a fundraising database
  • Preparing and automating regular and timely fundraising progress reports
  • Managing the production of in-house mailings, letters, updates, and invitations to prospects and donors
  • Coordinating on-site visits and tours for individual donors and prospects
  • Processing individual gifts, pledges, and pledge payments and submitting gifts and payments to the Business Office; serving as the primary contact for internal donation-related inquiries and adjustments
  • Responding to queries from individual donors and prospects
  • Assisting with research on donors, prospects, and other potential funding sources; utilizing available research tools
  • Providing special event-related logistical, production, and planning support for fundraising events
  • Developing and managing our Alumni cultivation, engagement, outreach, and communication plan
  • Creating and updating a working annual calendar to meet all deadlines; updating processes and procedure manual
  • Working with the Development Director and Upper School Administration to help coordinate cultivation events and stewardship activities for the Alumni community, providing follow-up support as needed
  • Attends staff meetings and participates fully in division-wide and all school activities
Diversity and Equity Commitments:
  • Understand and participate in all school-wide diversity and equity initiatives.
  • Examine teaching practice through the lens of race, identity, equity, and privilege.
  • Develop a curriculum that provides students with an opportunity to recognize their many identities.
